Curt Rocca Joins 28 Sacramento Business Leaders in $1.25M Fundraising Goal

Roseville, CA – For the fourth consecutive year, Sacramento-area business leaders have joined forces to raise money for local charities and non-profit organizations, while enjoying friendly competition and promoting community pride through golf.

The Sacramento Capital Cup is a three-day golf tournament among 28 local executives. Golfers are divided into two teams competing for a $50,000 purse, which is given to the winning team’s selected charities. Each golfer personally fundraises on behalf of their charity; thanks to sponsorships and player fees, 100 percent of the money raised goes directly to the charities. Last year, the Capital Cup collectively raised over $1 million for local charitable organizations. The fundraising goal increases each year, reaching an impressive $1.25 million for 2018.

DCA Partners (“DCA”) is proud to be the creator and Presenting Sponsor of the Capital Cup. Curt Rocca, Managing Partner of DCA, is participating as a golfer, raising funds on behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (“LLS”). “The Capital Cup is broadly impactful in the Sacramento community,” said Rocca. “On a spectrum of organizations supported, the Capital Cup is second only to the Big Day of Giving, yet procured by a relatively small group. That goes to show how passionate these folks are about their causes, and how giving a community Sacramento truly is.”

Capital Cup golfers and charity representatives gathered earlier this week to launch the fundraising season. Charity representatives shared how the funds raised from the Capital Cup have affected the populations they serve. “Capital Cup fundraising efforts allow us to support more patients and educate more providers,” said Jenaye Shepherd, Executive Director at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. “Over 104 patients received half a million dollars in financial copay assistance from LLS last year. This is vital, because it doesn’t help to have all of these new and improved cancer treatments if a family can’t afford their copay.” In 2017, Rocca raised over $29,000 for LLS via the Capital Cup; this year, his goal is over $50,000.
