Role and Responsibilities

Our Analyst position offers a unique opportunity for ambitious professionals seeking to play a meaningful role in the continued growth of our firm while gaining significant investment banking experience. The Analyst will work alongside, and be personally mentored by, Associates, Vice Presidents and the Partners of the firm while receiving broad exposure to a wide variety of different aspects of the business, including considerable direct client engagement.

Role and Responsibilities

The Investment Banking Vice President at DCA will be responsible for leading the transaction execution process for identified buyside and sellside clients. Specific responsibilities will include target identification, outreach, due diligence and managing the data room, client communications, and closing processes.  The Vice President will be expected to play an active leadership role during every phase of the deal execution process and will be expected to handle a high level of responsibility on the smooth execution and ultimate success of M&A transactions. The Vice President will also oversee the development of both initial pitch material and descriptive memoranda and is expected to actively lead drafting sessions and due diligence meetings, as well as conversations with clients and counter parties. The Vice President will also be responsible for the integrity of the valuation analyses and merger and acquisition models.

Candidate Profile

DCA Partners dedicates a great deal of effort to hire individuals who have demonstrated outstanding academic and professional achievement. Eligible candidates should have at least seven years of investment banking or related experience, preferably with a focus on both buyside and sellside M&A transactions and/or private equity transactions. An MBA degree is preferred, but not required. In addition, candidates should exhibit strong attention to detail, an ability to lead cohesive teams, the ability to perform well under pressure, a willingness to work long hours, and strong oral and written communication skills.

DCA Advisors (DCA) is seeking a Real Estate Investment Analyst to assist in the evaluation of future investment opportunities and overall portfolio reporting. We are in the process of creating a $500 million investment portfolio on behalf of family offices and long-term clients. The majority of the portfolio will be real estate oriented, with primary focus areas including value-added office and industrial properties, multi-family, student housing, mobile home parks, car washes, retail, and hotels. DCA is located in Roseville, CA, just outside of Sacramento. Positioned at the base of the Sierra Nevada foothills, about 1 hour from both Napa Valley to the west and Lake Tahoe to the east, Sacramento is quickly becoming recognized as one of the best places to live on the West Coast. This is a ground-floor opportunity to contribute to the development and success of a multi-million dollar real estate investment strategy, and build a long-term career in Sacramento. The ideal candidate will currently live in the Sacramento area or have significant ties to the region.

Role and Responsibilities

The Real Estate Investment Analyst will provide analytical support on a wide variety of assignments including market research, review of property operating statements, cash flow modeling, and property valuation. The analyst will be responsible for assisting with modeling and evaluation of new investment opportunities, conducting sensitivity analysis, assessing risks and mitigating factors for potential investments, and assisting with due-diligence review.

Key Duties Include

  • Developing and exploring ideas for potential buy and sell opportunities
  • Identifying properties and the appropriate contacts which meet a defined target criteria
  • Conducting market, financial, and due diligence analyses of identified properties
  • Conducting outreach and communications with potential developers, brokers, and operating partners
  • Analyzing financial and operating data to assess portfolio and individual investment operating performance; identifying areas requiring attention and suggesting remedial action
  • Participating in the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
  • Evaluating markets to identify changes and trends and related impacts on real estate values and investment strategies
  • Maintaining asset management models for each asset from acquisition through disposition
  • Advising on potential timing for refinancing and disposition of acquired Assets

Candidate Profile

DCA dedicates a great deal of effort to hire individuals who have a demonstrated track record of outstanding academic and professional achievement. Eligible candidates should have at least 3-4 years of experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data. A Bachelor’s degree is required in accounting, finance, real estate, or related subjects. In addition, candidates should exhibit a strong orientation to detail, a willingness to work long hours, and strong oral and written communication skills.

Desired Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Prior experience in the real estate and/or finance field required
  • Experience with real estate oriented financial and modeling software is helpful (e.g., Argus, Yardi, etc.)
  • A real estate salesperson or broker’s license is not required, but is a plus
  • Strong quantitative skills and established analytical ability
  • Knowledge of real estate accounting and financial statement analysis
  • Demonstrated interest in capital markets and commercial real estate
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
