Roseville, CA – DCA Partners (“DCA”) is pleased to announce the successful closing of Raley’s previously announced sale of Raley’s fueling business, Aisle 1, to Anabi Oil. DCA is proud to have served as financial adviser to Raley’s on this transaction.
Raley’s Family of Fine Stores, which owns and operates 129 grocery stores throughout northern California and Nevada, evaluated several offers through the vetting process, determining that Anabi Oil, a family-owned-and-led business, would be great stewards and partners.
The fueling stations, which offer fuel, car wash, and convenience items, will continue to operate under the Aisle 1 name and will continue to honor the Raley’s fuel rewards discounts. Although ownership transfers to Anabi Oil, the companies will extend the partnership beyond the transaction, which will be centered on Raley’s existing Something Extra rewards program. Under the agreement, Raley’s will continue to provide customers with fuel rewards when shopping in select Raley’s grocery stores and customers will continue to redeem those rewards at the Aisle 1 sites.
“As we continue to move our vision around health and wellness forward, we are focused on our core business of offering healthy food at affordable prices,” said Keith Knopf, Raley’s President & CEO. “This move will allow Raley’s to advance our long-range strategic plan and sets up a series of moves that will position Raley’s for significant growth and expansion.”
“This should be a tremendous outcome for both parties, as well as their respective customers” said Curt Rocca, who led the sale process on behalf of DCA Partners. “The combination of a family-owned, best-in-class grocery store operator and a family-owned and operated, best-in-class fueling center operator should result in an even more exceptional customer experience.”
In addition to the 13 existing Aisle 1 locations, the companies are also analyzing opportunities for growth, including expanding customer discounts at other Anabi-owned locations and the possible development of future fuel stations throughout the Raley’s geographic footprint.
