John J. Maloney

John Maloney is an accomplished senior executive with over 30 years of business experience in the distribution and management consulting industries. During his career, Mr. Maloney has started, grown and managed businesses ranging from family owned enterprises, to a $300 million distribution company owned by private equity firms, to an $800 million division of Office Depot, a New York Stock Exchange listed company. During every phase of company ownership, John has driven substantial growth with a mix of aggressive organic sales programs and a series of acquisitions. John's functional experience includes sales, marketing, purchasing, pricing, operations and the origination and integration of various acquisitions. He actively consults with businesses to leverage his expertise in distribution management and best practices in the area of sales management and pay for performance.
Mr. Maloney is best known for his strong personal leadership skills which have facilitated his successful management of organizations ranging from a few dozen family members to thousands of sales professionals in a multi-state region with more than a dozen distribution centers serving more than 20,000 customers. John has repeatedly demonstrated his ability to develop and implement effective strategies and tactics to increase revenues, improve margins, win customers from major competitors, and build viable sales forces and companies.
John has served on Boards of Directors and was instrumental in the management buyout of Eastman, Inc from its Australian parent with a group of private equity investors including Bain Capital and the subsequent sale of the Company to Office Depot for a price of $242 million. The sale generated a $100 million gain and IRR of 520% to the investor group. John has spent the last several years sharing the benefits of his vast experience with promising, growth-oriented businesses.
